Komyo Reiki Practice

Komyo Reiki places emphasis on personal spiritual transformation or Satori - through Reiki practice. (Inamoto-san teaches that Usui-sensei intended his system to be a path to enlightenment) Komyo is taught in four levels:

  1. Shoden
  2. Chuden
  3. Okuden
  4. Shinpiden (Teacher level)

The focus of the first two levels is on the therapeutic aspect of Reiki, while the third and fourth levels have a more spiritual focus. Each level is not considered an 'advancement' on the previous, but rather each level simply has a specific element of the overall teaching to convey.

Shoden Degree ~ Self Healing

During this first level, the student becomes a Reiki Practitioner. This course opens the door to healing self, and to beginning the journey to inner peace through Reiki practice.

At this level, practitioners will go through a transformation, of physical, emotional and spiritual awareness. This allows the evolution of the ego and the mind so that the practitioner can "move themselves aside" and allow Reiki to flow.

Chuden Degree ~ Healing Others

This second degree is usually taught as part of a weekend for Shoden/Chuden degree together. During the second degree, three symbols are taught, and training focuses on healing others and practicing our own path to enlightenment.

As a healer, we transform even deeper to become aware of each person, including ourselves, as a perfect part of the Whole of this Universe. When we can see the spirit of each being, we can see the perfection. Reiki is the universal energy/life force that is in everything. As healers, we exist without ego to allow the client to use the Reiki as they need.

Okuden Degree ~ Level 3

Level 3 introduces the student to the more spiritual aspects of Komyo, e.g. putting the Reiki principles into action in your daily living; and covers the fourth shirushi (symbol) and jumon (mantra) and how to use it.

At this level, and through Shinpiden, the role of Mastery exists only as a path to mastery of oneself. Using ones life as the teaching is the path of Satori. We live the principles of Reiki in our everyday life, honouring each person's path and creating opportunities for the sharing of gifts.
