There is a shift in thinking in the ‘green’ building design industry that is creating a great opportunity to improve the quality and operation of buildings where we live, work and play. Instead of piecing your design together one trade at a time, the Integrated Design Process (IDP) looks at the building as a ‘whole system’, and uses a team approach to integrate the most suitable technologies to meet the needs of each building.
We have met some of Canada’s best green technology experts as a result of our experiences with sustainable building. Once you’ve decided you want to ‘go green’, we can create an integrated team of experts selected for their knowledge in technologies you have chosen to consider.
The call for sustainable building practices is shifting paradigms about how our communities are built. In urban and rural settings, Ecohousing developments are underway all across North America. A collaborative approach is common in eco-housing development, where residents and their ideas (wants, needs, desires, ideals, values) are an integral part of the design process. Eco-housing promotes social, economic and environmental sustainability. Robert and Lorie have joined with the Ecohousing Association of Canada to facilitate projects here in Alberta.
Whether you are seeking to join a group to create a community or a developer with land you’d like to use in this way, this is the way to get connected. Contact us to find out how to get started.

A Japanese system of healing that assists you in returning to your natural state of balance and harmony. Explore through one hour sessions or through practitioner training. This is a very simple, yet powerful technique that is a complement to any and all medical treatments.
As a second generation Japanese Canadian, Robert remembers his Grandmother and Father using a soft touch of a hand on a sore spot to soothe and heal. Although it was not discussed nor passed on, Robert recognized the same warm energy when taking a seminar at a retreat in the early 90’s. Since then he and Lorie have taken extensive training in many styles of Reiki.
In November, 2007, they completed (together) Shinpiden Degree. This teacher training in the original Japanese Usui Reiki has created a resounding desire to practice Reiki more fully and to share this with others. We offer training in Japanese Usui Reiki and offer introductory evenings and meditation circles as a place to start.
To begin their day, a Reiki practitioner will sit in quiet meditation on these Five Precepts of Reiki:
Today Only
Do Not Anger
Do Not Worry
With Thankfulness
Work Diligently
Be kind to others
